Chris has been singing and playing musical instruments since he was a little boy at five years of age. He began his musical career in his Mother and Dad's church in the eastern part of North Carolina. Drums, Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Trumpet and Piano are just a few instruments he plays.
 
Chris and his sisters traveled across North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Georgia and Virginia singing and playing at Revival services and conferences. He enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Fayetteville and began his formal training in music. His first professor was Dr. Richard T. Hadley, an Opera and voice coach. After two years he transferred to Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee under the leadership of Dr. David and Virginia Horton. This is where Chris really began his music ministry. He joined Campus Choir - a performing ministry based choir. He became the section leader just after the first semester and became the student director the next semester. Power Unlimited became the next phase for Chris as he led the group with Dr. Horton to a missionary journey to Europe in the early 1990's after the fall of communism in the eastern block countries.
 
After Power Unlimited, Chris began traveling with Minister Judy Jacobs from Cleveland, Tennessee. He left in 1993 to pursue his passion with the ministry of Church Music, and moved to Florida to his first church. Eight months later he and Joy Swearengin were married. The next fourteen years he and Joy ministered in several different churches as Worship Pastor and Leader. In 2005 Joy and Chris moved to Cleveland, Tennessee to pursue their calling in Evangelism with Pastor Jamie and Judy Jacobs Tuttle. Chris has also released a new CD by the His Song Music Group label entitled, Somebody Praise Him!
